It isn't constitutional. The problem is that republicans in congress don't care.

I'd argue that if it was constitutional, it definitely would become unconstitutional the moment he started making the secret service rent rooms on his properties with their own money.

Mr. Trump and his lawyers have cited several reasons why they did not, including that conflicts of interest laws simply do not apply to the president.

he's spent his entire life believing that the rules don't apply to him, why would being PotUS be any different to a man born with a silver spoon?

It's hard to say, we've never really had someone like trump be president so it'd ultimately be up to the courts, and given the current make up they'd probably give it a pass.

On one hand, yeah you don't want any conflict of interest, but on the other hand you don't want to completely bar people who are successful and active in business from participating in politics.

most recently nixon and carter gave up their business holdings when they became president to avoid conflicts of interest. prescient is there, trump just said fuck it.

He's got 6 business under investigation because of his campaign and dealings in office. I doubt a court is just going to look at that and turn a blind eye to how Trump is profiting from his time in office.
