I grew up in a small rural community, so a lot of my friends, including my childhood best friend, lived on farms. every year, my family and his family and a few others would go to their farm and re-enact the nativity in their barn on Christmas Eve. then we would go back up to their house and have a late lunch.

the past few years, we (that is, the people roughly my age or younger) have also watched a shitty movie. usually an Asylum Studios movie like Sharknado or Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus

honestly I look forward to Christmas Eve more than Christmas Day

I don't know if I have a favorite, but the first one that comes to mind is when my brother got me an RF Adapter (so I could use our N64 at my mom's house) and Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire. He put the AF Adapter in a really fancy wrapping and the Star Wars game in really dull wrapping, and my dad was like "You can open one gift right now since it's Christmas Eve". Of course my silly kid ass went for the shiny wrapping >_>. They both laughed but then let me open the other one anyway.

I think the best one was waking up at my grandparents house and unwrapping gifts. we have a habit of saving the big presents last and chose to open smaller gifts first
I start unwrapping a PS2 memory card at the same time my brother opened a PS2 game and we look at each other exasperated, turn to our grandparents and say we're thankful for gifts but we have a PS1 since the PS2 only just came out, and that they don't play on the same console
they just say we'll fix that and we carry on opening presents, one of the big presents was a PS2

Spending my first Christmas with my husband when we just started dating. We went to a ski resort and stayed at a nice hotel with a fireplace. They also had outdoor hot tubs in the winter.
