it pretty much means they were so confident-slash-arrogant in their product that it was designed from the beginning on the assumption that people would be craving more.

sometimes it works, but more often than not it's just plain arrogant with the notable exception of certain source materials.

Considering how badly they messed up Bowser, I could only imagine what Wart would've been like. It probably would've been Christopher Walken dressed up like an evil king.

I actually looked it up because I became curious. A rumor persists that on set, they talked about the sequel at some point and said it would involve Wart and an "evil Mario" (which I am assuming was Wario)

That's interesting.

Now that I think about it, I'm surprised they didn't change the ending. When your lead actors are drinking on the set and ignoring script changes, it's a guarantee that they won't be back for a sequel. Had there been a sequel, they would've had to recast Mario and Luigi. Why even bother trying to pitch a hook for something which in all likelihood won't happen?

And if the movie had happened, what would that have meant for Wart? Would he have still been neglected by Nintendo? If he had, we'd all have assumed it was because of the movie.
