I feel like that first seven minutes or so of the latest video was a "taste of what's to come". With the TV-show style production quality and uncomfortable humour. It makes me worried because I feel like whenever someone tries to "rebrand" themselves, it doesn't end well. Might kill his youtube career and vanish, or even worse, become boring. Sellout. That sort of thing.Not that I have any evidence though.

It's just weird that after saying he was going to make shorter, less produced videos that he would go full tilt and make his most overproduced one yet.

Jontron was never on top though. Also Jontrons style of video doesnt let him pump them out like Pewdiepie does. Even when he made videos theyd usually come out months apart. It was like a year between his last two videos. Even if you didnt commit to not watch his content because of his disgusting views, it was very easy to fall off the wagon because he decided that shitposting on Twitter was a better use of his time than making YouTube videos.

The 2nd one was obviously a reference to the Star War prequel behind the scenes docu. Jontron even says word for word what Lucas said about the prequels after its screening, which was "well, I may have gone a bit overboard in a few places"

I don't understand people talking about the production value cause like JonTron has been trying to increase his production value more consistently than he even makes videos.

JonTron hasn't been a no budget thing for like 3 or 4 years now.

In one of his apology videos (for not uploading basically any new videos) within the last 2 years he explicitly said he was going to do shorter, lower-production videos because all the production was the reason for the large delays between videos and it was burning him out.

Never watched Jontron, but I just skimmed through the video. I didn't really see anything that should take a year's worth of production time even if he is doing it completely solo.

I would bet that people are hating on Jontron and his videos for political reasons... even though his videos have nothing to do with politics and he has clearly distanced himself from any sort of political discussion.

But this is only on forums like CE and Resetera (lmao I don't even want to know how much hate it's getting there). The Youtube comments are full of love.

I don't know if you guys realize it, but the internet LOVES Phil Swift. Dude has become a legend thanks to Jontron.

I never thought he was funny...that said, even if I did, I still would be weirded out by him literally doing a commercial and trying to pass it off as a joke. Just because it's ironic doesn't mean it isn't still a commercial.

It was a glorified commercial, but eh, it was still funny at times. I'm just kinda amazed he was essentially "hired" by the Flex Seal guys and got to meet the spokesperson.

I don't believe him when he says uploads will continue and he's sorry for the hiatus. He always says that.
