i'm the typa guy who wears t-shirts every day. even to work. jeans, t-shirt, casual shoes and a hoodie when it's colder out (like now) is the only 'style' i have (aka none).

i have a first date with a lady tonight and i'd like to wear what i always do, because that best represents who i am and how i present myself. but, like, everyone i've asked about this in the past says that showing up to a first date in a t-shirt is sloppy. it gives the impression that you don't care about your appearance and the other person isn't worth the effort to look nice.

but i feel like wearing something totally out of character is "misrepresenting" myself.

Coffee shop or something a T should be fine.

it's a very casual tea house that serves bubble tea, coffee, pastries, etc.

if i wear 'just a t-shirt' then i'd definitely have a hoodie on over it.

if i wore a 'nice shirt' it would just be an untucked button-up over my t-shirt

Go buy some plain t-shirts. You can get a whole pack of them at target or Walmart for $15.
