I know everyone here always shits on Spore, but how is the Creatures series as a virtual life game?
Found out about them when browsing GOG. I know the online features for Creatures Exodus are apparently not available anymore tho.

Omg creatures! I looooved creatures 2 when I was a kid, my sig references it, but I haven't played it in years so idk if I still like it, its the only game I played tho so I can't say anything about the series as a whole but I've heard after 2 they started really dumbing it down and taking away the fun gene splicing sciencey stuff so I don't really care to try the new ones. But def try creatures 2. And get loooots of mods, I think I remember it being a bit boring without them.

Also the new norn designs are fugly.

i remember repeatedly dropping an egg and then getting a deformed norn with 1 leg longer than the other who would beat the ever-loving shit out of the gronn (or whatever the fuck the green dudes were called)

Well, there's Creatures Exodus which is apparently Creatures 3, and then there's this, which is apparently a compilation of Creatures 1 and 2:

I was in high school/college when those games were out. I knew a couple of people who played it but I am not sure if it wasn't as popular or just not with that demographic.

I now have Creatures 1-3. I decided to get them with my order since a game series I wanted, Gabriel Knight, was on sale.

I think I wanna try Creatures 1 first.
