Rose McGowan, one of the most vocal advocates of the #MeToo movement, now says the revolutionary reckoning that swept through Hollywood the past year is "bull."

McGowan, 45, helped spark the movement last fall by going on the record with sexual assault allegations against disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. The actress said Weinstein raped her in a hotel room in 1997 and blacklisted her career.

But days after the #MeToo movement's first anniversary, the "Scream" actress said Hollywood's battle against sexual assault in the entertainment industry is only skin-deep.

"Its a lie. Its a Band-Aid lie to make them feel better," McGowan said during an interview with The Sunday Times in the U.K. "I know these people, I know theyre lily-livered, and as long as it looks good on the surface, to them, thats enough.

The "Charmed" alum vowed to never work in Hollywood again, adding that although she doesn't agree with President Donald Trump's politics, she does share something in common with his supporters.

They hate Hollywood for being faux liberals and theyre 100 percent right about that. Its a bunch of faux liberals, McGowan said. Its crap, and they know it is deep down, but theyre living an empty life, and to me thats their punishment. They get to live the lives they live.

Pretty sure if they took it seriously, like 90% of Hollywood would go down one way or another. Weinstein pretty much took a great majority of the blow, while some of the people that the public is somewhat willing to forgive for being talented, like Tarantino, got off scot-free

She's just saying that a lot of the celebrity and probably internet liberals only take on the brand to look good, but aren't actually practicing what they preach or trying to create a better place. She isn't saying that the problems aren't real.

Yup. Like most of Hollywood when it comes to political/social issues.

Well, the 'open secret' in Hollywood was everyone giving and accepting sex acts for favors, AND no one came out until they were done collecting their millions.

So based on that, this perspective is really easy to accept.

not much different than celebs raising their swords for feminism but don't practice it at home or in relationships...

and i don't mean just the guys, bunch of celeb women sayin they super feminists too, but when its time to protest at the public level with regular women or setting examples in what kind of men they'll date theyre no-shows and sell outs

thats what we get for givin so many free bonus points just for SAYING youre a feminist

McGowan claimed she was shunned by the #MeToo community, frequently left out of the survivors brunches and campaign lunches, despite being one of the most outspoken members.

I just think theyre douchebags. Theyre not champions. I just think theyre losers. I dont like them, she said. "How do I explain the fact that I got a GQ Man of the Year award and no women's magazines and no women's organizations have supported me?"

I agree with McGowan here. There are actual rape allegations like hers that should've been taken seriously a long time ago. Now those are glossed over while people are hung up on people in power being general creeps. One is definitely more serious than the other.

She's not wrong, but she's not against it for the same reason the right/conservatives are against it. She's against it because a lot of these Hollywood left/liberal elites are basically fake about the #metoo movement. They're doing it for PR reasons and not practicing what they preach.
