The game felt long as hell, I logged over 30 hours in the base game alone and now I'm gonna work on the DLC.

A million times better than the original game but the final level was nowhere near as exciting unfortunately.

Also in progress I have - Two Point Hospital, AC Origins, and quite a bit of Runescape.

Completed games for 2018 so far:

- Mafia 3
- Homefront: The Revolution
- Just Cause 3
- The Saboteur - 4 March 2018
- Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon - 4 March 2018
- Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 - 5 March 2018
- Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light - 6 March 2018
- Kane & Lynch 2 - 9 March 2018
- Far Cry 5 - 1 April 2018
-- Hours of Darkness - 7 June 2018
- Pillars of Eternity - 23 April 2018
- Binary Domain - 28 April 2018
- Battlefield 1 - 26 May 2018
- Ghost Recon: Wildlands - 2 June 2018
- Mafia 2 - 25 June 2018
- SWAT 4 - 9 September 2018
-- SWAT 4: Stetchkov Syndicate - 9 September 2018
- Saints Row: Gat out of Hell - 10 September 2018
- Watch Dogs 2 - 21 September 2018

I'm not an uber achievement hunter but I am kind of wondering why I didn't get the one for doing all side operations, either. Unless they count the DLC operations as side operations but that would be weird.

Out of the open world games you've played so far, where would you rank it?

This is a tricky question, since it does a lot of things right but doesn't fully take advantage of the fact that it's an open world game. I guess in that respect I'd put it maybe just underneath GTA 4 (if only because the driving in Watch Dogs 2 isn't as great). It has fun gameplay, well-written (if not annoying at times) characters, and a great setting (I love San Francisco).

But a lot of the side content is repetitive races which yield cosmetic unlocks, and money/customization collectibles. You can find research points and "key research" to unlock better skills, so there are functional collectibles as well, and at least some of them are locked behind puzzles. But I wasn't really blown away by any of the side content.

The world is also really, really beautiful and there is a lot of detail here. The game kind of tries to encourage you to explore by letting you take snapshots in front of famous landmarks and murals for XP but otherwise if you're not slowing down and walking around to experience it, it feels just like any other city. Which sucks since I ... really love Cali and especially San Jose/San Fran.

The drop-in/drop-out multiplayer and co-op are also both really fun systems to screw around with. Just before I beat the game I actually got a random bounty hunter mission pop up, and I felt pretty guilty because this other player just loaded into my session and he was fighting off the police and I pinged him in the back of the head >_>.

edit: There are quite a number of "side operations", though, too. But I think of those as an extension of the main game and not separate activities necessarily.

I really enjoyed Watch Dogs 2, but the main antagonist and story were kind of weak, IMO.

8.5/10

Yeah the main antagonist is a bit *too* optimistic always and he always seems to have the solution to everything. In a way he's kind of like Tom Cruise in the Mission Impossible movies - has a quirky support crew but ultimately he's the one with all the answers.

I do love the story and the fact that they discuss a lot of real world stuff that people kind of just take for granted or accept without hesitation.

I rather enjoyed Watch Dogs 2.

I spent literally hours just dicking around with the environment by hacking cars and making them blow up.

About how much more do I have to play after the whole getting doxxed and then going to the desert part.

Also, I came across a convincing case a while back that the game would have been better if they didn't give you guns, because it would have suited the character more and played more into the stealth and problem-solving aspects. How do you feel about this?

I'd say just about half way, but I didn't mainline the story, so I could have just focused on a lot of the side stuff at that point too, but I felt like that was a middle 'shit got real' moment.

Yeah, I would say at least 5-8 more hours.

I do think that guns don't really fit the theme of the game and it's kind of a way to adjust difficulty if you're bad at stealth and avoiding enemies... like I am. The fact that there's zero penalty at all for killing as many people as you want completely contradicts the character's purpose and innocence as a "hacktivist" :\

I think the first game had less reliance on weaponry which made the stakes higher and completing missions a little more rewarding.

Oh and it is so fun screwing with people in the world.

I was at some scenic overlook and this hiking couple started arguing so I called the cops on the husband and had him arrested.

I did a similar thing to this college student at the campus, but once the cops got her in the car I hacked it and had it go flying forward >_>. Then the cops started attacking random people xd.

It's fun when you take your phone out and start recording people and they freak out at you, too.

Speaking of hackers some guy just hacked me and I dropped an explosive on his car and shot him a dozen times and he didn't die... and I was on a rooftop so I couldn't get down to him

Also the gang and police warfare is a really awesome aspect. Just called the cops on some lady who was blocking my way into a clothing store and the cops started to arrest her and then got into a shootout with some gang members.

It doesn't end, either jfc I thought I was only missing like one side operation and I found one but it put me on this super long ass trail, I think I've done four or five due to this single mission -_-

Well I think I'm done here :\

Got all but 5 achievements, three are online and two I'm too lazy to do (photograph someone vomiting and fly for 140 meters in a car), and 44/51 club challenges (also most of these are online. Disappointed I didn't unlock all the skills but it's a pain in the ass to track down all those research points and I'm too lazy to do it item by item with a map).
