I know a lot of people lately watching this for the first time, is there something i dont know about?
And he becomes a "big bang" so to speak creating a new universe was the general premise. I do think there is a lot of discussion about the innocence of childhood and moving into adulthood too with the movie Heroic Bigpun posted... I watched that movie at least five times and I can never remember what happened in the later half I'm not sure how that is possible with how bizarre the last 20 mins are --- Casual Revolution 2007 - 2016 ... manga is very different. every scene is a lot more dense, containing tons more information, and there are many things which happen differently over the course of the story that the movie covers... then the manga also continues for quite a while after that, moving on to other story arcs that the movie never gets to.

definitely set aside some time to watch Akira. it's the length of a standard movie and a lot better than some of the garbage that gets released in theaters today.
