I've tried for at least an hour and only came CLOSE once to getting to the finish but the damn monkey hit the post of the finish line and died.

I look it up and I notice the dude pushed a switch at the start. I guess that probably slows the boulders down huh? Guess I'll do that next time. For now tho I'm gonna play something else. FUCK X__X

Oh boy. That's like a 3/10 on the difficulty scale. You've a loooong way to go, man. Have fun with it though, beating that game brings about a satisfaction so grand. You're going to get stuck on two stages next world. Timing is very critical to Monkey Ball.

Arthropod and Launchers.

Been so long I don't recall the stages. MB is a fun and unique game, but damn does it get annoying as the stages get tougher.

Was there ever a Wii monkey ball that let you control the ball like how you had to in those super Mario Galaxy levels

Lol yes. The damn boulders, some of them moved faster than others, had a bigger length etc. and it felt like I had to keep the monkey moving or else it'd be insta-death no matter how I approached the boulder, need quite a bit of momentum to get it right. Again though I didn't know about that button at the start.

Well going by reviews it seems like Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 were the only well-received games in the series. The phone versions of the 2 games seemed to be well-received too.
Maybe they sourced the series to different devs after the first 2, I dunno.

They did, in a sense. Amusement Vision (also responsible for F-Zero GX and AX)* were the ones that developed Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2. The division produced games under Sega and was eventually dissolved into the larger company along with a lot of other studios. It's a damn shame too, cause AV was an amazing company that did very well on their own.

*The engine for GX and AX was an enhanced version of the Monkey Ball engine!

The Monkey Ball speedruns are my favorite parts of any GDQ event.

It almost annoys me how I spent hours as a kid "mastering" the game then they do that shit lol I'm 101% positive that they've spent so much more time though.

I really wanna replay it now.

This game made me cry from frustration as a kid and is currently one of the few games that can still make me ragequit from difficulty.

If that level is giving you trouble, TC, then you have no hope for the nightmares that await you later on.

I'll remain optimistic. I just beat world 3.
I had no idea about the liittle button at the beginning of that one. Before, I had tried without it and wore out my control stick, lol.
