some of yall may recall that I got a claim put against me for my most viewed video,

the youtube video is blocked in over 250 countries....except Canada of all places

so I was just dickin around on my youtube channel, seeing whats new, and I ran into the option to dispute it. I guess it makes sense I can do this but Its not in a super obvious place

so what the hey

but yea, they don't give a response to you, I just got a notification saying "Naw"

I tried convincing them that I'm not infringing on any copyrights, its an edited and cut video with music playing over it, so its a parody, youtube has different examples of using copyrighted material that they approve of, and I said it falls under the "remix" example

and that I gave proper credit and I'm not making any profit from it

they didn't care

apparently I can try again but I might get a strike if it doesn't go through

well, kinda sucks but I liked the video because it padded out my views and time watched stats, which have been raised to reach monetization

guess I'll have to come up with something else!

one time I got modded on the smash bros for wii u board for posting about what characters I'd want to see in a future smash game because it was off-topic posting so I disputed that and they were like "whatever" but couldn't put the topic back up

I get disputes occasionally. More often that not, it's another LPer who played the same game, so the cutscenes match up or something. Those are easy to get fixed.

When I use licensed music for a longer segment of gameplay, they get hit occasionally too, but can't do anything about them. Same for some Nintendo ones, but they're normally pretty bad at picking up when I'm playing their games.

Got a strike from Capcom once for uploading the first hour of my RE7 LP three days before the game came out, but they lifted it once the release date passed. Video got all messed up though and wouldn't repost at 1080, so had to reupload it anyway.

My channel's demonitised now, thanks to Youtube's new rules, so unless the video actually gets taken down, I don't care now.
