I'm prepared to be very annoyed at the politician chick. I forget her name.

I was going to wait until the weekend to watch it, but caved and watched part of an episode last night then another two this afternoon. Already it seems better than season 1, partly because they're not wasting as much time talking about sports and so on in the barber shop.

Really regretting not waiting for the weekend. This has been bingeworthy so far. It's had a few surprising moments -- like the Brokeback scene between Shades and Comanche while they're chilling in the barber shop -- and Bushmaster has been a lot more fun than Cottonmouth.

I'm only watching the second episode right now, and I'm having a real bad feeling that Claire is going to die this season...She's in way too deep. And they're being way too public about their relationship.

And as far as Claire goes, I still like my idea that instead of being in a romantic relationship with one of the heroes, she should have set up a medical clinic for people with powers to get taken to.

Thus why I said he's an idiot XD The only smart thing he did was get more money than he needed by asking for 150k. But come on, some rich person, who I do think has $5 mil laying around, wants you to do a party thing. Should have started with 1.5 million and then went down from there if needed.

Eh, felt forced. I was also on the ropes over whether I would expect Shades to know what a fawn is, since I've met people who only ever lived in NYC who were still familiar with deer terms despite the fact they were likely to have only seen them in a zoo or something.

tbh, I didn't see that twist coming. When it was alluded to in an earlier conversation by the captain, I thought it meant he was the baby's daddy

Otherwise, considering that Mariah barely saw Tilda growing up and didn't want her in the first place, I suppose it's not all that weird that she never developed an attachment.

Did she? Can't remember which of the two she said it to, but immediately afterward I just thought that it was a fact they should have known. (Well, not the cougars preying on them, since I don't think that's really true in the first place -- cougars are more common on the west coast, deer on the east coast, and there wouldn't be any reason to prefer a small, young animal with less meat on its bones -- but just what a fawn is.)

...Zeus...Have you ever even seen things about predators on Animal Planet or Discovery? Predators "prefer" the young, not because of the meat ratio, but because they are much much easier to catch and eat.

Overlooking that predators have an easier time with the old and sick than the young (excluding a newly hatched animal, which is why sea turtles and other species have absolute bloodbaths ahead of them), none of it is really a preference in the conventional sense of the term. Fawns will be traveling with at least the mother and, when a predator charges them, it's just going to catch the slower of the two. Sometimes the younger one might be faster, sometimes it might be slower. That's necessity, not preference.

Predators in the wild prefer whatever's easiest food to catch and eat. The easiest for them to catch is the young, for them, it's both necessity and preference.

Finished LC2 last night. Kinda mixed feelings, although I liked it a lot better than LC1 (mostly because LC1 wasted so much time on the set-up and kinda always felt like it lacked focus. Had Cornell died at the end of the season rather than midway or had Diamondback been introduced earlier (since with DD1, iirc from the first episode we knew they were working for somebody else), it would have felt a bit more cohesive).

The season's last episode in particular kinda bugged me. I'm kind of okay with Bushmaster just leaving instead of being arrested -- although I'd still rather see him wind up in prison since, although the Stokes screwed his life, he killed a *lot* of innocent people himself, including the Atreus Plastics guy; all the characters were making a big deal about Mariah and Shades not getting away with their shit, but Bushmaster was every bit as bad as Mariah.

For a while, it looked like they going to do the same thing with Mariah that DD was doing with Kingpin, which felt like a lazy move. However, when I saw Tilda cooking in her kitchen, I immediately recognized it as, "Oh, bitch is being poisoned," and the kiss of death -- especially after *another* very popular show did it in recent years -- was a pretty dead tell. Killing her to end the second season was a pretty good move. While I would have liked to have seen more of her as a villain, the second season encapsulated her downfall and gave her a full character arc (whereas I had assumed it would just build her up as a villain)

Everything with Shades's proffer made no sense. Characters argued, "Oh, he wants to get her out of the way so he can take over! And get immunity for his crimes!" but, as he himself noted, once he snitched, his career was done. It's not like he was leaving with any money at that point either, since Mariah had all the cash. It would have made more sense for him just to leave.

And, while Shades did tons of objectively evil shit in season 1 to get viewers to hate him, his season 2 portrayal was more nuanced and we got to see more of his humanity. So the fact that Bushmaster was allowed to just get out of the game and go back to Jamaica yet Shades winds up being arrested for his proffer just seems stupid from a narrative point of view. idk, maybe this is buildup for his use in s3. That said, the fact that the witnesses are dead so everything is built on his confession could get him off, but it's not like there's anything to return to -- almost everybody in the organization is dead, Mariah's millions were given away, and Luke has the club.

Then, of course, everything with Luke Cage becoming a crime boss not actually involved in crime was just weird. I guess it makes a natural stopping point since it's a good place for a time skip.

While Mariah's personality constantly flipped around, I still liked her this season. And I liked how pretty much everything unfolded partly because she went ahead with a gun sale that Shades and others warned her against doing. The Hammer weapons themselves -- and I'm not sure why more weren't withheld if a few were kept anyway -- might have been enough to subdue Bushmaster, considering that his invulnerability was a lot weaker than Cage's.

Regardless, Mariah going into that restaurant and what they did there was worse than all of what Bushmaster did.

I didn't think Tilda was going to poison, I thought she was going to throw that on the floor and it was going to cause Mariah to go up in flames.

I don't understand why Tilda was upset that she didn't get the club. I did find it funny when Misty had to leave the roost cause secrets XD

Luke saying "tell Claire to go home." Just didn't feel like Luke to me. How he was acting through out that whole ending sequence didn't make any sense to me.

But it's fine I guess, because this just means Jessica Jones is going to have to show up and literally beat some sense into him.

Not by a long shot when you add up all of Bushmaster's stuff. Some of the guys he mutilated were criminals, but he also killed innocent people and frequently started firefights in civilian-heavy areas.

In the restaurant scene, Mariah lost her temper once and, because people started panicking, it turned into a bloodbath.

Given that the show -- or any of the Netflix Marvel shows for that matter -- hasn't done anything like that, it was highly unlikely. Obeah wasn't portrayed as magic, it was portrayed more as natural science. Plus she doesn't have the kind of background for stuff like that anyway.

More likely Danny. Plus, as we saw in JJ1, Jessica wasn't capable of smacking down LC and that was *before* his skin got tougher thanks to the second bath.

0/10 No Thanos ending

Just kidding

What I liked

- Cameos
- Misty and Shades characters
- The ending.. I guess?

What I didnt like

- Too long, both in episode numbers and length
- Some of the dialogue, conversations were too long with little to no meaning.. and what was up with Luke 4th walling? (Referring to the show as his then later telling his dad he's a producer?)
