The first one is the only decent one. I honestly didn't even like it that much, but it is clearly the best of the bunch.

Half of the movies started off as random scripts that they tweaked to make into Hellraiser movies and it is obvious. They are just like random bad movies with 5 minutes of Pinhead thrown in.

And besides looking cool I have no idea how Pinhead became a horror icon. He is so fucking lame. Like all his rants about pain and stuff are so cringeworthy they are straight up laughable.

There is a 4 hour documentary about the series that I will watch here in the coming days.

Also Pinhead is a horror icon because he wasn't your typical slasher villain at the time. He was thoughtful and eloquent, open to negotiation if you had something he wanted more than you and wasn't wholly evil in the classic sense.

Shades of grey bad guys nowadays are a dime a dozen but he was special.

It was written and filmed in 3 weeks so it could be out to renew the license asap.
