It's funny. MN9 was being hailed as the true successor to the at-the-time ignored Mega Man series, being helmed by the man who made Mega Man to begin with. But it crashed and burned.

And now, Capcom is making an actual Mega Man game that looks to be taking a huge dump over MN9.

Actually, there was an interview early this decade or so where Inafune admitted the character design for Mega Man existed already when he joined CAPCOM.

He remarked that his first thought about it was actually "why would you want a blue robot" but he rolled with it when they explained it was because the NES had two shades of blue.

I believe there are eight voiced Mega Man games:

Mega Man 8
Mega Man X4
Mega Man X7
Mega Man X8
Mega Man ZX Advent
Mega Man Legends
Mega Man Legends 2
Misadventures of Tron Bonne

Plus some quick vocal clips in a ew other games, like "ouch" sounds and bosses screaming what are presumably move names in Japanese.

8 and X4 are legendarily bad
X7 was also really bad but not 8 and X4 bad
X8 was actually pretty decent, except Sigma.
The rest were just normal bad.

The few clips we've heard for 11 seem to fall into the "decent execution but perhaps miscast" category, which I'm ok with. Light was spot on though.

They are hit and miss, I mean they can give us good games like RE 7 and Monster Hunter World. They can all screw up big time like with any fighting game they have made lately.

I'd rather they keep the evolution to other series. There's plenty of room for keeping the classic series intact and evolving the format at the same time.

I suppose so. Make a Good Mega Man Level brings out some really good level designers though, even if the majority of the levels are stinkers.

Man this game looks great. The double gear mechanic makes the game look super interesting and it gives me hope they would go all out for a new Battle Network title in the future.

I was about to say. Whenever they evolve the franchise they always make a new series. Classic Mega Man is always gonna have that basic jump n shoot mechanics.
