Trying to get custom plates. The total fees are actually really easy to find - it's on the page for the plates and there's no fancy additional math required.

The problem comes when you go to their registration site and they say that it's $50 per year of registration and each plate has an additional initial or recurring fee. Those costs are rolled directly into the actual fees on the "brochure" for the plates, but... they don't explain that, so you could theoretically overcalculate by like 130 bucks at least if you didn't know any better. Which I didn't which is why I called. But why would they do this.
