Board 8 > Which was the most surprisingly good casting: Gal Gadot or Heath Ledger?

I actually have to go with Gal for this one. Heath I thought was an odd pick, but he had proven acting chops.

I only knew Gal Gadot from the Fast and Furious movies and there they just play up to her looks.

like I don't remember anyone being like "why did they hire this Fast and Furious girl to play Wonder Woman"

Gal Gadot, Cillian Murphy and Heath Ledger are the triumvirate of DC Comics casting. RDJ, Alfred Molina and Patrick Stewart sit on the Marvel side of things for me.

RDJ wasn't surprising at all if you saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. His Tony Stark acting his the exact same as his Harry Lockhart acting. This is most evident in Iron Man 3, which was written and directed by the same guy who wrote and directed Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

I'd disagree. She didn't have a particularly huge or memorable role. "That chick from Fast and the Furious" is going to get a lot of "Michelle Rodriguez?" answers and then blank stares.

she was definitely distinguished enough by fast 5 (the best one in most people's eyes) to know that people wouldnt just say "michelle rodriguez?"

Nah, I still disagree with that. Fast and Furious has too many characters to just equate being in it to instantly being well known.

There was definitely a big "Who?" sentiment when Gal Gadot was announced as Wonder Woman.

As good as Godot is as Wonder Woman, Ledger's Joker was transcendent. I don't think you could've expected a performance like that no matter how good we knew that actor was.

I didn't even realize Gal Gadot was in the Fast and Furious movies, and I've watched all of them. I had to google it and when I saw who she played I thought "oh shit, that's who she was".
