It's funny, since I clearly remember them using the "P" word (crude word for a woman's vagina) in the first game but I don't remember them saying the F word.

In fact the earliest game I remember saying the F word was The Getaway on PS2.

I played two South Park games on N64 (so I'm willing to bet at least one of those was the same as the PS1 version) and now I'm wondering if they censored the 64 version or if I just don't remember it.

Same here. As a matter of fact, the swearing in GTA3 and Vice City were pretty mild compared to their successors. San Andreas was when the characters started tossing F-bombs in just about every other sentence. To me that proves something. That a game doesn't need to have loads and loads of swearing in it in order to be "cool".

No but it does paint a more accurate picture.

I hear people swearing so much in my day to day life that I don't see it as "swearing" anymore. It's just another word
