The girlfriend and I like fighting gyms together sometimes. Its a lot of fun. I played in 2016 during the initial craze, and then picked it back up briefly last year in late Summer. Quickly dropped it though because they didn't fix any of the major problems, despite the game being released for over a year. - Still a massive battery drain. - Still couldn't trade with other people. - Still couldn't battle wild Pokemon. - Still no training system for leveling up Pokemon. - Still had a gym battle system consisting of just tapping the screen. - Still had no special locations like pokemon centers or anything. - Still had massive server issues. I mostly hunt for shinies now since I dont really like the social dynamics of raiding, although Ill probably hunt for a group if they bring back Kyogre or Rayquaza, I ended up missing those two. --- If they drag you through the mud, it doesnt change whats in your blood <cite>Mead posted [p:900489818] in I've recen... The way to be eligible for an invitation is by doing a regular raid at certain locations; either parks or sponsored locations like Starbucks. Which is all deliberate design, in no small part because Gamefreak doesn't want Go replicating too much of the main games. Plus pretty much every spinoff has different mechanics than the main games. You also can't mass transfer legendaries. You have to physically go into the Pokemon's page, go to transfer, and then go through an additional prompt warning you that it's an event/legendary Pokemon. Of course the handheld versions are more intricate, theyre also games you buy for a dedicated handheld. Go is a free to play mobile title. Pokemon Go is an entirely different experience. You cant go to a physical lake or park and catch different pokemon in the handheld games, you just make your avatar do all the traveling. In Go you can team up with a dozen other players to take down legendary pokemon, and in my opinion nothing in the handheld games matches the excitement of seeing a rare pokemon on your tracker and running to catch it in time. Ill never forget the day gen 2 launched in the game and the shadow of a Feraligator appeared. I ran over to the area of the park near a pond and was followed by a group of thirty or so people who were all so excited and cheered each other on to catch it. Or my first ex-raid when about 100 or so folks all showed up to a Starbucks like a flash mob take down and try to catch Mewtwo. Theres a lot to enjoy from both types of games. Everything moved so slowly in them. Plus they weren't fun.
