Cottage cheese used to be $2.69 for 6 servings

Now its 3.49...

I am starting to rely on sales and even then not really saving as much as I used too ;_;

Rice gets into crazy sale territory if you buy bulk - you can get those 50Lb bags for like $10 (or whatever, the burlap ones)

Bulk! BULLLLKKKKKKKKKKKKK!

Also, yes, food prices are soaring. I don't like it, either, especially now that I cook more often.

Yea wtf, even eggs are more expensive (from 1.69 dozen large eggs to $2.19 then $2.29)

Even the cheap stuff isnt cheap anymore which concerns me, especially since Im about to lose my job

Plus as I said before, sales arent really helping either. Im starting to rely on but 1 get 1 free or 2/cheaper amount and unfortunately meat doesnt get that treatment often

Bulk meat when on sale Ill spend a lot right at that moment, thats how rare these sales happen

I'm kinda worried since I already eat poor food so if prices go up, like, well - I guess I could try auto-cannibalism

I eat sandwiches from delis alot. For a hot sandwich made from the best ingredients from a local authentic Italian deli it is $9.

But usually I go to the deli run by eastern europeans that have ok sandwiches for $4 to $7.

I had a 2015 Silverado and my insurance was only ("only" by comparison to your price) $3800/year. So I don't know what you're driving but yeah, I'd sell it and get a bike.

@Zangulus

How easy is it to make $600 a month with Uber? Haven't really done enough to make that much but may have to start

Otherwise I'm getting a bike ;_;

It may be time to switch insurance companies. If you haven't had any claims, it's a win/win for the company to raise your rate because you either pay the extra money or drop them and they keep whatever you paid them already.

I've switched companies every couple of years and now I use a broker which has been great. I pay $91 a mo for 2 cars.

This is why I pay month-to-month. Although, most companies will give you a percentage back based on however much time there was left on your insurance if you paid in advance for a year or two.

Yea this always seems to happen during renewal time. I only had my current insurer for a year and they increased my monthly rate by $200. I had no accidents, just made a claim after a plow truck hit my parked car and I'm assuming that's why I got hit...

I hate car insurance shopping. I mean I don't need a car but I honestly feel like getting rid of it is more expensive in the long run. I can sell it back to dealer but I would have to pay the difference of what they want to give me and the rest of my loan in cash which I don't have :(

I'll probably do a very thorough shop of quotes over the weekend. Hopefully can drop it to at least something not over $350

If you hate making all the calls for quotes, get a broker. Most of them don't even charge a fee.

So really, after gas, insurance and what not I basically would have to make $700-$750 to pull down $600. Mind you this isnt taxed either. You have to pay your taxes out of your cut. Including self employment taxes.

I started like March 3rd. Ive made almost $1900 in that time. A total of about 60 hours. I only drive on weekends and in the largest city in my area because its a big college town.

That's pretty decent actually and yea it definitely looks like it will pay bills

I guess this is just a sign to get new coverage overall, probably looked at it the wrong way anyway so definitely going to give it a shot

Thanks for that write up

I'll probably do this too, but what would they get out of it unless they pocket some of the policy payments (similar to how recruiters get paid on client salary)

Who do you have insurance through now?

A Place called Plymouth Rock. I actually really liked them, the calims process was much easier than geico's but idk why I got hit with this, I will definitely call them

It is most likely where I live because in college my rates were nowhere near this amount. At the same time though these rates are something you'd expect for a place like Manhattan, not Boston - no offense Manhattan
