- Mercenaries 2 (shudders)
- Borderlands 2 (well, I beat the base game and one of the DLC but I'd probably restart and play all the DLC... which is a waste maybe I'd just pick up with my character)
- The First Templar
- Hatred (shudders)

List of games I've beaten so far available upon request but it's basically all first and third person shooters and that one weird Lara Croft pseudo-ARPG.

I'll even throw Pillars of Eternity into the pot... I got to Act 2 and did a few quests in the harbor town before I lost steam after running back and forth between the districts. :\

Try Far Cry 2. I'm thinking about buying it for Xbox while it's on sale, but I'm worried the gameplay will be too dated.

I've actually started that one at least three or four times, have had varying degrees of success making progress on it but I think I might finally have the patience to tackle it again.

It actually isn't that bad of a game, it just has a rudimentary fast travel system (you're limited to a few bus stops scattered around the map) and there are a couple of mechanics that are cool theory but a little overwhelming (like weapons jamming and breaking >_>).

Actually... it could be fun to play again eff.

Those all sound like things I've been looking for in a game tbh. I want to see more games incentivise "slow travel," like the first Dark Souls did.

I was more worried about things like the shooting/cover/stealth mechanics and hit detection being too dated.

My memory might be wonky but I remember stealth being a reliable system, but there were no indicators like in modern games that warns you to pull your foot back into the shadow or set off an alarm.

Shooting felt pretty good. Enemies could feel like bullet sponges at times but maybe my aim was just bad (I watched that crowbcat video recently and there's actually very good gunplay compared to what I remember).

Don't remember if there was a cover system or if it was old school "manually crouch/stand up to shoot".

i didn't know that game wasn't shut down.
might have to get 2 copies and plat the thing.

think i'll make that my target goal this month.
portal 2 will cost me a pretty penny since i cant find the character token for the level.

Oh no it's garbage compared to the first game. Mercs 2 is another one I started a long time ago and then quit. They made the bombs and stuff collectibles that you have to retrieve, and they use a regenerating health system that takes forever to kick in so if you ever do take damage you're stuck with an annoying red tint for half an hour on your screen. But if you know that going in... :\

Solid choice. I did beat this back in high school several times but bought the GOG release. Got up to the mechanic shop mission but it's kickin' my ass.

Man I need to learn to finish games >_>
