It won't happen since it's so complicated anyway. But yeah.
Maybe I should "jokingly" say something like that. Both of us are looking to move from where we live now anyway. And he keeps saying things how lonely it is to be alone home, and wishes he had someone at home etc... Sounds like he's dropping hints. Just throw it out there as a question. What do you think about being roommates? Would it be weird at this point? Just cut to the chase. If he is hinting he will be happy. If he's not, at least you're showing him you've thought about it. Communication is so important in any relationship.
