I dunno... I remember Esmerelda more than Jan BECAUSE it's longer. Jan blurs into other names too much.

I can agree that Esmerelda is more memorable than Jan. But that's because Esmerelda is a unique name and Jan is just Jan.

Even D&D does it. I remember Icingdeath, not Ingeloakastimizilian.
