please help me understand why your side thinks this is even remotely acceptable given the amount of noise you make about deficit spending (when Democrats do it) and fiscal responsibility and all that. i promise i wont argue, i really just want to understand.

just so you understand, that's $1,000,000,000,000.

Right now we have a lot of wasteful spending in our government.

Many departments, including the military, could get by on less money, but won't because we have a corrupt government.

However, the idea behind lowering taxes is that it stimulates the economy by giving the people more spending power, thus increasing demand, which of course means that jobs will open up, thus increasing the revenue for the government while lowering the tax burden on the working people.

Which has never happened historically from tax cuts. Rich will not create jobs because they have more money. Only demand for that job creates more jobs.

Jobs are only created if there's a need for that job. Such as increased demand for a product that job creates. Companies do not just hire people for the sake of hiring people. They hire what they need and if they need more they'll hire more.

I mean, that's the goal.
Lower taxes short term, blow the deficit long term. If Democrats take control like expected, easy to blame them when it happens.
If Republicans stay in control, then they get to slash medicare, medicaid, social security, etc. in order to offset the spending.

Old people will still vote for them because they're fixated on abortion, despite being the ones hurt the most by this legislation.
Also funny that AssTank supports cutting these programs probably because he buys into the myth of welfare queens screwing the system, but turns around and supports corporations who are essentially receiving billion dollar welfare checks from these tax cuts because they will somehow bring jobs.

It's crazy. The Bush era tax cuts sent us into a recession. The Kansas tax cuts have devastated the state. But the GOP needs a win so their donors are happy, and they fixate the poor on abortion, guns, and immigration.

That's some hilariously revisionist history. The country was sliding into the Clinton recession before Bush even took office and his tax cuts helped get the economy back on its feet faster. Leftists love to whine about the Bush tax cuts but fail to recognize that we had better economic growth under those cuts than we did after the top bracket was raised and we stuck it to those evil rich people.

Good thing I wasn't describing trickle down then.

Trickle down is giving money to the rich and expecting it to trickle down. What I am describing is giving more money to the working class, and expecting them to spend it, thus stimulating the economy.
