For anyone unfamiliar with comic books, thats sort of like hitting the comic book lottery (exaggerating, of course). But the owner is likely to double his money on it, easily.

Said hell put it up on eBay for $15-1600, but told me that hed sell it to one of his regulars for $1300.

I havent been a serious collector for well over a decade, mostly buy trades now. Even if I was really into collecting, that would be out of my price range. But part of me is envious.

Just looked it up. Its up for $1800. Wonder if hell get that much.

Sounds like that store owner is a serious low-baller and far too greedy. I would not recommend selling anything to them. A respectable store owner would have given them at least %75 of what they can sell it for, especially for something that is supposedly such an easy sell.

I have no idea what he bought the comic for, but the owner of the shop is one of the nicest people I know, and very generous. The he should double his money comment is mine alone and just something I said off the cuff. Im not a investigative reporter lol

Shouldnt assume shit when you dont know shit.

Wouldn't this statement also apply to you for your assumption of how much he could make? I mean, you said it yourself, you dont know what he paid. :P

Fair enough, but I wasnt making accusations toward someones character or a businesss reputation.

I am sorry for being correct based on the information you have given me. Offering somebody less than half of what an item is worth is greedy and predatory. If you think otherwise, you are probably a predator who likes to prey on others. If the shop seller was even remotely honest or generous, they paid $1000+ for that comic, not the $650~ you initially made it out to be.

On a side note, the shop owner already lied to you and listed the comic for higher than he initially told you. That does not seem very nice or generous.

Anyone know why this particular variant is so valuable? Was it very rare?

I have some variants myself but I think my most valuable one is only valued at around $200

Edit: Looks like it wasn't the rarest variant of this issue. Maybe people just really love the cover(it is cool)

We went over this, I only have the information the TC provided which included an approximation of the cost. Going off the initial post, I did have an idea of what the book cost.

Now, are you going to try and tell me that honest business folks purchase items for far less than their value as well?
