It's fucking sick that you can just allow some depraved pervert to run over a fucking squirrel for no reason and he can get away with it

Running over a squirrel is better than swerving and ending up in a ditch.

because it's not worth risking a car accident to save the life of a squirrel.

in my state the law says you're allowed to suddenly stop for an animal as long as it's "a dog or larger"

If it's a grey squirrel then it's fine because they're vermin that wiped out the red squirrels.

I slow down as to not hit squirrels, but I wouldn't risk getting into accident to avoid one. And besides, squirrels are pests and are full of filth and diseases

That's fucking sick. So you can run over cats and rabbits? It's not right, that some depraved pervert can get some sick pleasure from this and get away with it.

That's a silly rule. How big a dog are we talking about? There are some really tiny ones and some giant ones and other go in between.

imagine you're driving down the road at 35 MPH and the car in front of you slams on their brakes to avoid hitting a squirrel and you rear end them. worth it?

Lmao what? So if you stop to let a cat or another small animal walk across it's illegal?

you're not allowed to randomly stop in the middle of the road without a "good reason". the laws doesn't consider stopping for a squirrel or any other small animal to be a "good enough reason".

do you think it's acceptable to come to a full and sudden stop on a 35-50 MPH road to avoid hitting a squirrel?

You're right.

Everyone should swerve and hit the pedestrians or other vehicles in a head on collision instead.

I was driving down the highway the other night and this fucking armadillo looking thing pops into my lane. I thought for sure I'd hit it but somehow just missed it going 70mph. Could have been bad.

As long as they don't slam on the brakes, sure. I see no problem slowing down to a stop as long as it's not a freeway.

I do, because some of those nuts they don't find grow into trees that can be harvested for wood.

fair enough. however, it's probably not legal to come to a full stop in the middle of the road wherever you are unless you have "good reason". but you should check your local listings to be sure.

You'd have to either not be paying attention or be pretty far up the cars ass in front of you in order to rear end someone going 35mph.

I always stop in order to avoid animals, within reason of course. I'm not going to slam on my breaks if I'm on the highway for example.
