There was no need for him to use his gun View Results An 8th grader is dead in Wisconsin after a Police Officer responded to a call about a 14 y/o boy who was home with the FLU and was holding a knife outside his house.. The officer who shot him, Brock Mrdjenovich is now put on administrative leave after he killed 14 y/o Jason Pero when he approached the officer with a huge butcher knife which was an attempt to be a "Suicide By Cop". But Brock maintains he commanded him to drop it which he refused. Brock also tried to "outrun" him but said he couldn't and had to shoot him It happened on Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa reservation as evidence showed the boy had been despondent in rcent days Brock said he fired at him twice hitting him in the body and head because he "lunged" at him. He had only been officeer for a year according to records. Jason lived with his grandparents who said he was home from school from the flu but didn't know why he later left the house with the butcher knife The boy's mother and other relatives however are not convinced that Jason had a knife and his grandfather said he was maybe carving or doing something but could never hurt a fly. Never in his life they said as he does not look like the type of person who could hurt anybody if you saw him.
