I see a staggering number of guys at my work who wear dress pants (khakis, slacks, non-jeans, etc) with a collared or button-up shirt and look somewhat professional and then BAM, a pair of Adidas on their feet.

i don't understand this. those who do this, why? why not just get a pair of dress shoes so you don't look like a goon?

I've been guilty of this in the past, but I switched to a nice pair of boots. Why did I do it? Just lazy and was sick of getting dress shoes that only last 6 months. Had a hard time spending 100 plus on shoes I just sat at my desk with.

if you don't drive a car to work, i can sort of get this. but if you drive a car i don't get why you wouldn't just leave another pair of shoes in your car.

I disagree. With nice jeans, decent shoes and a non t-shirt top, I think a blazer with jeans can work well.

but i also have almost no fashion sense so
