You know, for support or whatever personal reason you may have

I think this is one of those things where you just have to find a good one to actually believe that it is possible to contact the "spirit world"

Sometimes I think it isn't the spirits of loved ones talking though, which is kind of scary

For people who don't believe in this shit, is it simply because there isn't proof it it (Spirit world) actually existing?

Yes, but only because I want to mess around with them and see what kind of stuff I can get them to say.

I think I did. Father insisted on taking me to a chiropractor for my depression/ADHD. Ikr? Told me that the guy was just a general "healer".

The chiropractor did a lot of hovering his hands over my body, calling it a Reiki technique. Okay. The biggest bit though was the blatant cold reading. Extremely leading questions that he'd follow up with blatantly obvious "insights". When I questioned him, he assured me that he would just tell me not to bother coming back if he believed he couldn't help me, and that he was on my side.

He ended up recommending about $100 worth of herbal pills that didn't really do anything (gosh my father was enamored with the pills though). I didn't go back.

Basically it's asking whether you'd throw your money away and I would not. The only reason I'd use a medium is I knew they were a talented fraud and they were helping me with a dastardly scheme. As for psychics, it depends on the type since some are basically magicians and I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a magic act.

I wouldn't do that unless I believed it would work. Seems like a pointless thing to say, but if I did believe it would work at least I'd get the placebo effect. Most therapy is 70% placebo effect anyway, I've always thought.

Psychics are just fake wizards.

Wizards are the guys that track you down and see you personally (just like in the movies).

I would rather not get scammed out of my own money.

Hell, one of my assignments I had to do in Java, was made a numerology calculator, based on one that my professor actually did for one of these quacks in New York City, and got $300 for it.

Oh I haven't yet the opportunity.

On a whim and out of curiosity, I wouldn't mind seeing a psychic.

Basically yeah. It'll just be a coincidence if they say anything I could relate to. Although not the same I have a hard time believing folk can be hypnotised too. Unless it's actually done to me I'll continue to not believe it.

the biggest load of bull I hear with hypnosis is you have to believe and be willing to have it done to you. think my grandmother tried hypnosis to quit smoking. she smoked till her dying day

from what little I know I've always assumed physics to be like zodiac bs, give very vague answers that would apply to most people if they think too hard about it and want it to be right, they will attach it to something.

Yeah. Seems like brainwashing in my book and/or a placebo effect.

That is exactly how it works, or for example they use there ability to read a person. It basically works because of the way our brains work psychologically. They could be wrong 99 times, but that correct 100th guess will be the one that sticks in your mind if your are even remotely open to the suggestion.

I just think people don't like to admit they've been scammed.

My mom's acquaintance ran into a Nigerian love prince a while back and it's been something incredible.
