People need to realize how dangerous a car can be and should have all of their attention when driving. You not only put your own life in danger, but get this and not many people seem to understand that you also put other people's lives in danger.

Put the fucking phone away when you're driving. You don't need to stream yourself driving. You don't have to answer calls or text immediately, do it once you're parked.

Don't even think about drinking and driving, don't care if you have one sip, I'm not getting in the car with you if you do.

Believe it or not, there are laws in place for your safety. Seat belts aren't optional.

To be fair, some people can do it better than others. It's the shitty ones that give the rest of them a bad rep. Many drunk drivers drive super slow, which creates enough risk aversion to not be much of a danger on the road. Also, it helps not to be live streaming with your phone while driving.

I don't condone the behavior at all, but not all drunk drivers are the same, and should not be lumped into the same category of people who are high risk. There are many other factors at play besides drinking that create most of the fatal crashes involving a drunk drivers, and we tend to ignore them.

Imagine justifying the fact that you drink and drive and being proud of it

Driving REALLY slow does slightly increase the risk of a collision, but when you're drunk, driving a bit slower helps mitigate much more serious risks such as not being able to see or react well. I don't think I've ever read a story where somebody got killed because a drunk driver was driving too slow...it's almost always because they take a corner too fast, react too slow, don't see a red light, etc.

I'm just putting forth factual information. If you choose to ignore it because it challenges your existing attitude toward the issue, and then go on to make (false) assumptions about me, I can't help you.

While he was exceptionally rude, no there is never any "well what about" when it comes to impairing yourself and getting behind the wheel of a multiton machine capable of killing not just yourself but others. That's the key and that brings us full circle.

I've driven drunk, once. Never will again. Driving tired is a worse feeling honestly, but it was a miracle I made it home. But it's not about me or my justification for what I can do. I have a buddy who is actually a fantastic drunk driver, I'm not any less scared with him than I would be anyone else, when I'm sober that is. He drives like a grandma when he's clean, so the slow driving thing didn't really matter the night he wasn't paying attention and crept 15mph into the middle of a four way intersection where he currently had the red light.

You know how close I came to getting headlights plowed into the passengers side I was sitting? Not at all, it was 3am. But just because it didn't happen this time doesn't mean it didn't happen to some other poor guy who's friend was a "great drunk driver".

I mean there's a video. Justifing an already bad decision is literally why these things happen. I can't watch the unedited version, just this one makes me glad that this is the generation I die in.
