I mean, Dobby was always treated as an anomoly. Sure, enslaving him is immoral because he wants freedom.

But every other house elf wanted to be a slave for whatever reason.

Like...were we supposed to be rooting for mass house elf ownership reform or was Hermione supposed to be seen as naive and ornery?

I never understood what Rowling meant to convey with that arc. >_>
