part one and two are so linear. they are hallway runners.

part 3 at least is a lot different from temple running.

I just played through half of the first one. I always thought this was the worst of the three but it's still fun to this day.

The challenge is still there is trying to 100%. The graphics are so cool. Damn this game beat Persona 5 for me :(

If they redo Spyro.... oh man... I think I'd die from the greatness. Spyro 2 & 3 are among my favorite games of all time. 3 slightly edges out ahead, though. Spyro 1 is still great, but it's not quite refined enough at that point.

it was, its mechanics were wonky and its incredibly aged

The remake both updated its handling to be modernized to the levels of 2 and 3, while keeping its primary focus on basic platforming that the latter games expanded on/shied away from somewhat. You also can use the analog now, have a much more lenient collection and unlockable system, and an actual functioning save capability

tl;dr, of the three games, Crash 1 got by far the most impactful and necessary improvements. On top of having time trials and playable Coco added to it (along with Crash 2)

Ugh, I hated the time trials. They were a pain in the ass in the third game to beat.

The second one is my personal favorite. The levels in that game were simply the best.

Yea calling Crash 1 and 2 linear is a bit weird. They are platformers, its supposed to be linear

Not to mention, 3 is linear as well. You are just using vehicles to play a linear game

Linearity is one of the weirdest 'criticisms'. Modern western devs have warped people into thinking its a design flaw and not just a game style. The remaster is linear too
