This poll was conducted from April 3rd to April 12th and the poll makers reveal that the Socialdemocrats had 28% before the 7th and then 32% after with a total result of 29.9% for the whole period.

Prime-minister Stefan Löfven (in office since October 2014) has gotten praise both from your average Swede as well as from political opponents for his handling of the attack. Löfven was quick to appear at the scene of the attack, quick to take various actions and he was simply "present" during the whole ordeal while openly praising the wonderful job our Law Enforcement did as response to the attack. The fact that Löfven had started to change the open border policies of the Conservative Reinfeldt administration (2006-2014) already in late 2015 and vowing to take further action on immigration has helped put him in a good light.

The Conservatives on the other hand keep slipping further and further down the drain since their peak in 2010 when they got 30% of the votes in the election. Their open border policies and their cut backs on Defense while in power for 8 years and a weak current leader who stepped in after Reinfeldt resigned in 2015 is weighing heavily on the party. Recent attempts to win back the immigrant-critical voters they've lost to the Nationalists has just resulted in voters of the party's Neoliberal branch leaving too.

Reinfeldt only cared about tax cuts, privatizations and corporatism.

Many middle-class voters were initially seduced by Reinfeldt's tax cut talk, but once previously tax funded services started costing money they "panicked". The fools thought they could have both lower taxes and a strong welfare state at the same time.

I can add that the newspaper which did this poll is a Conservative one. Which really highlight how poor the Conservative party is doing.
