The movie's thesis is "don't lie. Tell the truth and be yourself."

But Aladdin never really suffers any consequence for being a compulsive liar. The last time he and Jasmine speak before the finale, he comes up with a new lie to explain himself, and tells genie he can't set him free.

After they defeat Jafar, this is never addressed. Aladdin doesnt release the genie because hes a good person. He releases the Genie because he doesnt need him anymore.

And the fact that Aladdin is only being himself because he was outed by Jafar is never addressed.

The Sultan tells them its legal for them to bang and its a happy ending.

So I guess the real moral of the story is, "continue to lie until you cant, then pin the blame on a convenient scapegoat everyone hates."

It is all explained in the subsequent direct-to-video cameos and the entire Aladdin cartoon series. You'll have to watch all of them before forming an informed opinion.

Lion King is the same.

There's a moral of "You can't change the past, you can only work on the present/future" but yet when Simba gets back everyone treats him like shit and judges him (including himself) until he realizes that Scar killed Mufasa.

So according to the logic of the Lion King, if Scar had not killed Mufasa, and Mufasa had just died due to bad luck as a response to saving Simba, then Simba would to blame and deserve to be shunned.

It's fucked up

Yeah. Pretty much all the Disney movies fall apart under scrutiny. I enjoy the mess out of them, but still lol.
