38 y/o Michelle Rodriguez said it was difficult playing a TRANSGENDER male character in the controversial thriller "The Assignment" as she plays a hitman named Frank Kitchen who is FORCED gender reassignment surgery by evil surgeon Rachel Kay (Sigourney Weaver)

But Michelle said she became more aware of her feminine features while playing the part and said "You never feel more like a woman than when you play a man. I thought it would be easy because i'm a tomboy and i'm assertive and i got a low-toned voice. Everytime i lifted my hands and scratched my beard, you could see my skinny little wrists and fingers. i'm like, Dammit i'm such a girl!. The daiintiest little wrists, the most feminine ass, the most feminine back, i had a blast though, it was fun"

The Assignment, previous called (Re)Assignment and Tomboy: A Revenger's Tale attracted major controversy when it was released as Nick Adams, a spokesman for GLAAD said "It's disappointing to see filmmakers turning what is a life saving medical procedure for transgender people into a sensationalistic plot device"

Director Walter Hill defended the B-movie inspired plot stating he's not making a statement and said "There's nothing in the movie that doesn't agree with transgender politics or rights, at least in my admittedly limited understanding of them. I wouldn't make a movie that hurt transgender people. Some of them have had a tough time of it, and the last hing i want to do is make anyone's road harder. But look, i understand the concern. Is it lurid? Yes. is it lowbrow? Well, maybe. Is it offensive? No. I'm just trying to honour the B movies we grew up with"

Michelle also defended it and said "I think the transgender situation, you could talk about that if you were talking about a film that was focusing on the psychology or the social aspects of the situation. It's not about that. It's an action genre film and we're not trying ot get psychological or deep about it, so lay off. its an entertainment piece. Calm down guys, i'm on your team!"

The movie was shot in Vancouver, Canada and ultimately SLAMMED by critics and viewers...
