Will the dragged doctor win or will United win?

it sounds like that man that was dragged off a plane is about to sue United Airlines. Who do you think will win?

This.

They really don't want this to go to court cause they have zero leg to stand on.

Plus, the more exposure this gets the worse they will look.

Give the guy a large sum settlement and wash your hands of this.

It will probably be settled but

if it went to trial United would win because the damages David incurred were from Chicago Airport employees and not United.

All United did was tell him to get off the plane and then call the authorities. I am afraid there is nothing in that which is worthy of a lawsuit.

The bloody face, being dragged off the plane, was all out of United's hands once they called the airport authorities.

If anything United actually has a case they could also sue the airport for essentially slander or something like that as if those security agents hadn't bloodied the man this wouldn't have been such a PR nightmare.

Also aren't you required to leave an airplane if requested to by law? They could also add that in to reduce claims against them.

you are

like I said, legally all United did was ask him to leave then call the authorities

and that cannot win a suit

he can win a suit against the security agents at the airport for banging his head possibly
then again, suing cops for "doing their job" doesn't usually have a winning case either
but the caveat here is they might not have been cops and work for the airport and thus not the city directly

If it actually goes to court, and the ruling is based on the facts and not public opinion, United will win.

But it's very likely United will just settle out of court so this story gets out of the public eye swiftly.

Yep. Companies prioritize settling things like this because they would rather pay large sums of money and make a problem go away rather than having to admit they were wrong in a court room.

Courts could force them to change things like policies and they wouldn't want that.
