You're going to make mistakes - even people who have been driving for years make mistakes. Just learn from them. Also be very mindful of pedestrians at crosswalks and intersections, I think new drivers tend to focus a lot on the road and then ignore the fact that someone could be trying to cross the road on foot ... Use your turn signals right (let the blinker blink 3-4 times before you start changing lanes). For cars, don't buy a brand new car and at a minimum take someone with you who has purchased cars before (if you live in the DMV I don't mind helping). Took the computer part and eye test. Then drove around a few blocks and corners. Anyway had to get one because I was using someone else's car that had expired tags. Got pulled and flat told the officer that I had no driver's license.
