I'm talking about the people who never cared about voting with judicial nominations in mind, said the GOP wasn't serious about overturning Roe v Wade/would never get it accomplished because they'd been talking about it for 50 years, and then even after it fell insisted that progressives/leftists are still being hysterical when we talk about the objective threat this Christo-fascist party and its voting base pose marginalized populations even though we have so much history of religious right-wing extremists causing harm to society when in power and even Republican officials outright saying what they want.

And yes, you're right, tons of people made the exact same mistakes regarding Republican fascism that Germans did regarding Hitler and the Nazi party.

It's honestly insane the amnesia society has towards Trump and the horrors of his presidency. That poster could very well just be shitting it up, however normal everyday average electorate people honesty say/believe this stuff and it blows my mind. That people would actually be pining for (while not being a Republican) or saying it would be better than under Biden shows the disservice our media and civic educational system does to our country. Cause damn, it was only 3 years ago. Even the GWB rose-tinted nostalgia had 8-12 years of him out of office and Trump to help "make him look better".

Reminder that Texas is winnable. Abbott's margins shrank from 20.4 points in 2014, to 13.3 points in 2018, to 11 points in 2022. If Dems can increase their margins in the Austin and Houston suburbs, and make gains in the DFW area, Texas can be a swing state.

Literally the only silver lining here is that this culture war bullshit becomes less and less of a winning strategy every passing year. Attaching themselves to anti trans, anti gay, and anti abortion platforms is going to get worse and worse for the GOP the longer they stay committed to that sinking ship.
