Mine was a shiny Ponyta when I was playing through Pokemon Silver. I had no idea why it was a different color but I captured it anyway. Probably still in my cartridge that I'm too scared to see if still works. I named him Z after my sisters black horse.

Snubbul. I thought it was so special. I spent a long time grinding with it because I was curious what shiny Granbul would look like. And then it turned out to be a slightly different shade of gray lol

Gen 2 Red Gyrados aside, I honestly don't remember.

The first one I remember aside from scripted Gyarados was a Loudred in Sapphire. Never really used it cuz it's a boring shiny on a pokeyman I don't care about.

I can't remember if I ever caught a random shiny in Gold or Crystal. I do know that in HeartGold, I caught two shiny Magikarp, which is cool, but also pretty useless since they just evolve into the shiny that everyone got from that same game. >_<

I think it was a Medicham in Pearl. I ended up restarting the game because I couldnt figure out how to get to Spear Pillar, and I had forgotten about it.

Lairon in Emerald.
I then played Platinum and I didnt catch a single shiny despite putting hundreds of hours into the game.
After skipping a few gens I played Sun and caught a shiny Absol

Aside from gen 2's shiny gyarados, my first shiny was a magnemite in Pokemon Ruby.

I think it was an Eevee in gen 7

Shiny Zubat in Emerald

It was a Wingull in Ruby.
