It does, as long as it's appropriate. IE: no minors, no celebrity deep fakes, etc

It also has a tag system and the NSFW tag is bright red so you can't miss it.

You can also login in SFW mode which hides every thread with that tag.

Yeah INTERWEBUSER. Guy outed himself as Curnow by linking to his podcast and stream not to mention regurgitated all his talking points.

People did try to say he wasn't Curnow but the guy kept linking his shit and vanished a little after Curnow went to prison.

It also shows if a post has been quoted, how many times is been quoted, and the quoted post can be clicked on to navigate between the two.

Would have made it a lot faster and more convenient to see if anyone else had already answered your question.

Thread Zone doesn't run on 2004 GameFAQs code. Tiko coded his own thing and styled it off of what GameFAQs used to be like, I believe

Yeah, I believe it's original code styled to capture the classic GameFAQs(/LUElinks) experience. maybe I'm wrong, but it's infinitely smoother and more functional than "20 year old code" would imply.

I cloned gamefaqs also back in 2005. I still have my source code- very outdated though
EDIT: not a complete functioning clone but some ideas were ripped from MediaArchive (old spinoff)

The difference being the church thing was literally a topic here. Saying it was related to RI is like all those people blaming video games for violence when it was just a fact of their background they liked video games.

Weird. Thread Zone has quote trees as well but I don't know how to describe how that was handled. But it works well.

Probably the Israel-Gaza war as well. I was honestly surprised that Fandom didn't implement this rule back in November, since a lot of companies take even a whiff of antisemitism (and anything that looks like antisemitism when you glance at it sideways) very seriously, and then on the other end you have the typical right-wing Islamophobic and "OMG scawwy brown ppl" dredge. You also have people on both sides who either deny that any atrocities were committed against the other side or wholeheartedly support said atrocities.

champion and writing some martial arts bible that didnt actually have anything to do with martial arts

He seemed to have some serious paranoid delusions or psychosis

Reddit has a horrible design imo. It's not good for discussion threads like this is and it encourages groupthink by propelling popular posts to the top of any topic.

It's just so disorganized I hate it.

Reddit isn't designed to support multiple simultaneous chronologically-organized discussions. It's a system of promotion and suppression by design, and its threads devolve into mazes of reply chains that are impossible to keep up with for any in-depth discussion.

Frankly, it's a terrible option if you aren't looking to drastically upturn the status quo and general experience that this board has enjoyed for the past two decades.

Honestly, Im not really sure I could ever use the term lolcow unironically anymore. Ever since the Keffels drama Ive pretty much put the kiwifarms behind me for good. I only ever lurked there. Never participated in the harassment campaigns that they did.

I'm going to try out Thread Zone and the discord servers people have set up later. I don't know where I'll migrate to yet but the writing is definitely on the wall that gamefaqs boards are on their way out.

Back in the day (early 2000s) LUE was basically a prototype-/b/ and did a bunch of edgy shit. It came to a head when they trolled a LiveJournal of some girl that killed herself. So the admin at the time basically gave LUE a heads up that they're closing the board and to sign up if you want to stay in.

CE's situation is different. They closed it abruptly, the userbase is way lower, and they just closed it off cuz of general politics and hornyposting. And if you're purg'd once you're out, unlike LUE which let you come back if you purg'd afaik

That definitely seems pretty strict. I assume it means that if you get purged AFTER the new decision that you are gone?

It was created by the owner of the current iteration of LUElinks. Style-wise, it's basically classic GameFAQs with countless modern QoL updates (live topic updates, notifications, post reactions, topic tags, ability to easily see a post's replies). It was originally made as a pet project/backup/"see where this goes" sort of thing that never really took off in any big way, but there's been a zone set up specifically for CE to move into, should you all desire to.

I cannot stress enough how it functions like a smoother version of GameFAQs, and it loses exactly nothing in terms of form and functionality.

i registered for thread zone. i'm in error's discord already but i don't check it very often. idk i just prefer forums.

But is it really that strict? Think about it, if someone who has been spewing hateful rhetoric gets purg'd, and not allow to come back again, is it still strict in regards to that person, knowing that person will never come back here to spew their nonsense ever again?

I think that seems a bit much to permaban people from coming here once they get purged. But the people who find it strict, should be saying it's unfair instead. Because to them, on the off-beat chance that getting purged happens to them, because they would be screwed, and how is that really fair to them? I know people hate the "both sides" argument, but if you want to say it's strict, then say it's strict for everyone, even those who do deserve it.
