yeah that "feedback" thread is just adding insult to injury. nobody from Fandom is reading that shit. it's just for the affected users of this community to shout their frustrations into the void. fucking ridiculous.

How did this admin, who no one knew even existed, make his first post about the going-on's on this board, as if he knew about it for a while? Not trying to get all conspiratorial mind you, but something feels odd about that. If DToast did this, that's one thing, because at least we know who he is. But this new person, what part of left field did this rando come from?

im sure when dtoast was handed the reigns, sballen gave him the tl;dr

His account was made 2023, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is some random who never heard of Gamefaqs until Fandom bought it and they wanted someone closer to their culture to have admin privileges.

I'm sure there's some NDA stuff the admin aren't allowed to divulge, but Allen stepping down could have some relation to how Fandom wants to change things. Toast may have also been against this, and refused to be a willing part of it, which may explain why Fandom random had to step in and deign to report what was going on instead.

Mind you I have no factual evidence of any of this.

wow, i just checked it on Mybrainisbroken's incel subreddit to see what the chuds are getting up to over this whole saga. there's a thread Taiis posted with leaked mod info about how they are all KOSed, and then there is a thread Mybrainisbroken posted celebrating the anniversary of when they "took down" the Politics board, with a video he took that apparently shows that he printed out a gigantic commemorative banner, hung it up in his living room, and let loose a bunch of balloons. and then he's got ANOTHER thread celebrating their "victory" of getting CE privatized. and claiming that their campaign to harass Fandom employees is what got it privatized. how fucking pathetic.

lol, like, why on earth would you think your actions had anything to do with policy changes on a website that has permanently barred you from posting on no matter how many accounts you create, as soon as the accounts are identified as you? how the fuck does that make sense in his mind?

I mean I personally would have preferred if they tweaked the announcement so that it's merely an auto-ban for anyone who uses that pathetic internet terminology like the one in quotes, and anyone who does vegy's recent trend of misspelling words like "the" that he's been doing the past 6 years.

So the topics can still kind of exist (up to a point, if maybe they're subversive or humorous) and it's just the user that gets banned if they use that pathetic terminology instead of typing like an actual human being.

Main character syndrome is a hell of a drug. Trolling is going to be significantly harder for them and they won't be able to wantonly spread their bs but everybody else is either slightly inconvenienced or also locked from CE so that's a "win."

They'll continue to rage against the site and everybody else will largely forget they exist until they cry about being banned on a system board.

This has nothing to do with anything here but can mods still keep their mod if they get sent to purgatory? >_> was thinking about how the only way new users or formally purged users can get access to this board afterwards is if they become moderators and then my question just popped up into my mind lol

I noticed that whenever something "major" happens in the world in recent years, that's the excuse for gamefaqs to crack down on political discussions. So after George Floyd in 2020, political discussions were banned on the PS4 board (which was a major, high traffic board at the time, on this site anyway), after January 6th the Trump board was deleted and there were further crackdowns, then after 10/7 they cracked down on political discussions even more, and now this.

The mantra in the last 4 years is "political opinions are fine, until something happens that is, then political opinions are no longer fine and you are no longer permitted to have opinions on politics or on anything else". LOL, what kind of logic is this? I'm not arguing about any of this, just pointing out the absurdity of the situation.

Sterolizer was over in the feedback topic going on about how the old moderation system was better because it was about rehabilitating users rather than punishing them. Completely ignoring the fact there is a large portion of users not willing to rehabilitate but just wanting to spout their vile shit wherever they go. It's these people that caused the moderation system to become less lenient because it was obvious to the mods/staff they were never going to learn.
