Hamas has no strategic value in hiding behind its civilians. They are outnumbered and need to surrender. The Japanese had no strategic value in hiding out in Manila. It was decimated and the commanding general of that affair was rightfully executed for war crimes. If you really want to boil it down- nobody was going to die on October 6thbut the plan was in place to be stupid. And stupidity is what gets you and a lot of innocent people killed.
