my job is/involves a lifestyle and I don't really differentiate between it and life.

Im definitely starting to. But it pays pretty well and if I leave this job Ill def switch careers, and dont think I can afford a career change quite yet.

if things dont get better Ill probably put in my notice towards the end of this year tho.

No. I work the government, so it's not a bad job. I do dislike some of the redundancy that we have to do though.

Like I get it, checks and balances, but holy shit I shouldn't need so many forms and so many signatures just to buy pens and paper clips and such.

I can't imagine anything easier that pays as much, so no I don't hate it.

There are unpleasant parts but I'm usually able to remind myself that probably 99% of the world has it way worse than me.

I hate that I don't have a job. I applied to 12 jobs today and don't expect to go anywhere with any of them.

From a fellow Brit, it's benefits that both the unemployed and low-income get. The amount you get each month varies on your circumstances.

We have a cost of living crisis here so UC has also provided households with occasional extra payments on top of that (as long as they're eligible) so people can afford electric/gas.

Just over 300 gbp a month. I was on a bigger amount than that because I got diagnosed with psychosis but only the paranoid anxiety and not hallucinations or voice hearing.
i took myself off the mental health meds and the extra pay benefit too after the pay in February and I lost it in march and I have so much less gaming money but Im not bothered cos I have a sizeable backlog despite feeling the sting of not affording persona 3 reloaded
i live with my single parent.

I don't have much hope because I've been stuck in Unemployment Hell longer than I've ever been employed thanks to my last job being seasonal and not wanting me back XD I was frequently ill last year and I don't think they wanted to risk it though I'm generally healthier now.

Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully you find some work soon. I'd give recommendations, but I have no Idea what the job market is like in the UK XD

possibly semi related to what you get, did you hear about that story in the uk that happened like a few months ago, some like late 20s guys who is severely impaired , he got a bunch of other disability income cause he was so disabled and planned to spend it all on one big vacation that he had saved up for he told his case manager and she told the state and now he has to pay it all back. Did you read about that one?

No....my nana is so paranoid about that happening to our situation. She kept saying about me having to phone them asap despite it being a long list of people on landline and we had to wait for the chance to talk and say circumstances of my meds have changed

Pay is excellent, hours are exactly where I want them (10 am to 6 pm monday to friday) so I don't have to get up early and I'm done by dinner, workload is non existant since I run the shop and they'd rather me babysit all the fresh apprentices on their jobs then do the work myself, my boss is incredibly introverted so he just avoids me and they are so afraid of losing me that I told the fleet manager to fuck off and recieved 0 consequences for said action.

Never heard it myself but my nana knows friends who had the same situation.
I think me claiming mental health is wrong purely on the fact that I'm not on meds.
I'm not on meds I'm not mental enough for the extra money. My nan actually said that and it's absolutely right, if maliciously holding back the reveal of getting extra money for no reason the money needs paying in my opinion

Nah. I spend my shift watching movies, youtube, and shitposting on gamefaqs while making 6 figures.

No but at the moment it's extremely slow/boring.
Wish I had some PTO I could burn through but it's all saved for traveling

I like what I do and my coworkers though
