I watch Destiny because he's a halfway decent & effectual liberal that works with progressives & more left leaning people, while sharing like 1/2 of my political positions, that does a good job at debating and countering today's "conservatives" & Trumpers on their BS. My problem with this episode is the Krassenstein Brothers as liberals, because they very much signal to me that they're stuck in the same area that Biden is on "reaching across the aisle".

Sharing drinks, hanging out, talking with conservatives outside of a work setting when you're talking about today's pundits is absolutely insane. Not under any circumstance am I going to share a drink & spend my free time talking to Alex fucking Jones, Candace Owens, Steven Crowder, any of those fucks because of what they represent. They can signal that their shows or content they put out are just for work, but we know who they support & what they fuel. This is not simple policy differences, it's the life & death of millions of children, women, & LGBT people that they advocate against. How the fuck do you as the brothers & prominent journalists/influencers, think you can reason with 1/2 of those people??

I know Destiny shits on today's conservatives regularly, because they are not conservatives in the same way that Mitt Romney, Bush, or even goddamn Cheney was. Trumpers deserve the ridicule & mocking they get, because if they cared about policy, effectual strategy, or bettering America; they wouldn't vote Trump. One time in 2016, it could be fair & argued for that people did so as a mistake & learned their lesson. Voting for him in 2020, or soon to be 2024, is a fool's choice & you are a clown for continually doing so. Because this bears repeating, no, you do not have to like the Democrats or Biden, but they are STILL BETTER. They are a temporary stepping stone to a better country as well, & would be a traditional conservative party in any other country.

But liberals like the brothers need to remove their heads from their asses & stop thinking you can reach across the aisle with today's republican party supporters, if they wanted to change, they would do so. This 'friend I can have a drink with' bullshit is hopium.

There was a point in time, YEARS AGO, where Destiny may have been a fair representative of a very center-left type position - but that hasn't been true in a long time. Also, he's just been constantly proven to be a huge piece of shit, in virtually every way. Same w/ Vaush and shit.

Propaganda discouraging one of the more effective ways of reaching those that conventional journalism can't reach - from those in the same social sphere as them.

@Cemith Destiny isn't the problem here in this video, he has lots of issues & takes I take umbrage with, but it's the two brothers that still bend over backwards for that political civility nonsense that has never helped Democrats actually do good political defense or offense against the Republicans. Someone posted an ad that Biden is currently running. THAT is effective, because the barbarism of the current GOP needs to be shouted from the rooftops. & this far into the game with Project 2025 on the horizon, the demolition of public institutions; the destruction of democracy is not "oh let me have a beer with these republicans, wanting term limits or safe schools that are well funded is just simple political differences hue hue."

Yeah there was a prior treaty that Ukraine agreed to to denuclearize, & Russia violated that agreement by invading them decades afterwards. So I fully am on board with their defense. As for Israel, yeah I'm a socialist myself so this is gonna be a hot take: but yeah by this point it's clear Israel cannot get along with it's neighbors & I'm fully in support or removing all support, funds, & military tech to them now & going forward ad infinitum & abandoning them. If they were a stalwart supporter of democracy, this feud with the Palestinians & Gaza wouldn't have gone back & forth so long with Israel getting billions of dollars every year basically in funding from the US. Now we have issues with Iran going on because of Israel as well, again.

Also ButteryMales, since you want examples of the problems I have with Destiny. He doesn't stop lying about the humanitarian aid that Gaza gets, & underestimates the amount that Israel gets. Israel is THE largest foreign country that gets money from the US, barring everyone else. & every time he says Gaza gets the most per capita in foreign aid, I pop a blood vessel because they're not even in the top 5 every time I looked it up. Also the Krassenstein Brothers like & defend Chris Cuomo, liberals stay dying on the worst hills possible. But he still maintains the stance that the specific intent for genocide isn't there based on how he perceives legal terms, even if the mens rea for criminality may exist because ethnic cleansing is not mutually exclusive with genocide & that you can have one without the other.

IDK the brother's position on Israel succinctly off the top of my head, I just know from their debate with Alex Jones & what they post on their website & said in that podcast episode, that they're very much the "yeah Republicans want to exterminate trans people & destroy the country, but they haven't said anything specifically bad about me or someone I know & that shouldn't stop me from having a beer at the bar or talking with them as someone to be friendly with" type of liberals.

You know, it's shown that if you talk to people that you know and care about regarding your politics, you have a higher chance of convincing them rather than if you were strangers.
