Told y'all that my brain took a hit after covid. Luckily it didn't make me stupid (though my misspellings have taken a major hit), but I'm well aware of the cognitive hit it took. It greatly frustrated me, being aware and unable to do anything about it.

Nature's perfect response to an out-of-control human race: create a disease that gradually makes us too stupid to properly respond to everything Nature's gonna throw at us in the 21st Century, including Covid.

I got it once, but was vaccinated. I had cases of brain fog for a while afterwards, but have been fine lately. Maybe it was due to something else or maybe it was because I got a milder version of COVID. Just had a bad headache and a bit of congestion and whatnot for a week. The vaccines could have helped too of course.

Try learning new things.

Getting my project management certificate while I had COVID I think helped me become smarter than I may have been otherwise.

Building my aerobic fitness while I was sick helped me clear it quicker. But this study says it may not have helped

I got it unvaccinated (not anti vax I know I know its bad but I never left the house) by my cousin and I dont know if i feel different.. I will never know anyway because i have the possibility of Covid effecting my brain and the mental health meds i were on being stopped now so if I behave differently now its probably the lack of meds compared to when I was on meds a few years before Covid hit

I just flipped out on my parents, telling them that I didnt want brain fog. Came off as irrational, but Ill try to explain to them why I lost it.

Im on a couple of behavioral meds for depression, anxiety and anger. No clue how COVID will affect them.

Mine were anxiety and psychosis meds though the thing with me was my paranoia and not other psychosis symptoms like voice hearing or hallucinations. I only had intrusive thoughts to the extreme that I idiotically believed some of these crazy intrusive thoughts I believed that Im thinking like this for a reason meaning its true. I still have thoughts like these but i never listen or distract myself and Im good at tuning it out now when im bored the thoughts flare up so my logic is to make myself busy but i can rationally ignore and think how crazy my thoughts are away if I want to

Well hopefully you dont get it, but remember things can happen in life that we dont want at anytime, and for any number of reasons. Yelling at your parents wont change anything except make you and your family mad at each other over something you cant control.

There were studies making similar conclusions pretty early on into the pandemic. I remember reading one four years ago now that mentioned an average drop of 7 IQ among many thousands of participants after getting the virus even in mild or asymptomatic cases.

One mild case of Covid drops your IQ by 3 points, a mid case by 6 points. and a severe case by 9 points. This happens every time you get Covid.

So what happens if you dont have 7 to lose and end up in negative numbers? Instead of learning do we become really bad teachers?

Just asking for science obviously.

Boris Johnson getting Covid and they used this dumb af picture of him everyt time where he has messed up hair and likes hes sucking an ice pop and it just was so pathetically dramatic it annoyed me that is all

Glad I've managed to not get it. Really hope they can do something for those effected by this. Took a bad hit to the head once and the recovery being me basically knowing that I knew how to do something but not being able to get the thoughts through was the most frustrating thing I've ever experienced(I'm fine now, some light short term memory issues). This sounds extremely similar. Head trauma in a can, basically... Scary shit.
