Otherwise it makes the league look like something they're not putting much effort into. If you're going to have a sports league do it right, invest into it and make sure you have the best product out on the floor and the investment will pay off in the long run Basically they shouldn't be cheap. The players should get paid more than us average joes who might have regular office jobs. Since it's supposed to represent the best athletes in the sport in the world playing at the highest level I've heard supposedly the average WNBA player gets about $50,000 a year and that's rough when you have to travel from city to city across the nation.
