I think it'd be cool to at least see him play with LeBron in the NBA, regardless of whether he'll be great/good/bad/terrible.

Dude was a bit of a bum in his freshman year so this seems like a poor choice.

Way too much hype around him from when he was dominating nobodies at Sierra Canyon.

No son of mine would be playing competitive sports after having a cardiac arrest at just 18 years of age. That is about as loud as it gets for warning signs.

The kid can do whatever he wants even though he's not an NBA talent anyway.

But uhhhh.... yeah, I can definitely see why people would say he isn't an NBA talent. I haven't seen him play because I don't follow basketball very closely outside of the NBA playoffs/finals, but... I wonder what went into him making the decision to declare for the draft.

Certainly not in the NBA. LeBron just wants that accolade at the expense of son and whether he's even good enough for the NBA (he's not) and possibly his health.

I can't as a parent understand why you would put your son through all that.

Not in the NBA, but Glenn 'Doc' Rivers coached his son Austin 'Scrub' Rivers for a couple years on the LA Clippers.

Never got around to watching him play (JuJu Watkins is the best player at USC, IMO), but I hear from those that have seen him that he's probably a mid level NBA talent.

He'll likely make the league, but he's not likely to be a star.

Yes he can. The Lakers bench is full of professional athletes at the highest level of their sport. Bronny sucks against dudes who won't even attempt to get a tryout for an NBA team.

The way they do it now, a player can declare for the draft in order to get feedback from NBA scouts and front offices and, based on that information, decide to stay in the draft or withdraw from it and go back to school.

I imagine most teams are going to tell him to stay in school.

Austin Rivers is one of the worst "NBA" players I've ever seen. He would practically fall over trying to dribble on a fast break.

He became a somewhat respectable player, but that was the clearest case of nepotism I've ever seen in the NBA.

If his name was John Smith with that stat line the NBA wouldn't even be in his vocabulary. Even now, the only reason why he's declaring is because of his daddy.

Any team that signs him is only doing so to hopefully get LeBron's final season.

Yeah Doc was also somehow the GM of the team, so he traded for his son, then signed him to like a 35 million dollar contract for no fucking reason, which was proven because after that one contract he's been a minimum salary player for five other teams.

It cannot be overstated how much of a cancer Doc Rivers is on the NBA, everywhere he goes he fucks things up. He took over the Bucks this season when they were one of the best teams in the league and has them playing .500 ball.

The only reason someone would draft him is to try and sign Lebron. 2nd round draft picks probably wont make an impact in the NBA anyway if they even play at all

Yeah, it's tough because I like Doc. Good interview. Always says the right thing, etc. but he blew at least two 3-1 playoff leads with the Clippers. That shit can't happen, and he had to go.

Plus he turned "Lob City" into a plodding team that could neither fast break, or run a half court offense.

Assuming he doesn't just undeclare and transfers, his only chance is if some shitty team like Washington wants to waste a late second in the hopes that LeBron wants to play with his son. He's not remotely in the top sixty draft eligible players.

In all likelihood this is just to get feelers out on whether he has any shot of getting drafted now. I'd be surprised if he doesn't return to college for another year to try to improve his stock.
