I had cheeseburger pizza ONCE, I took a single bite, the mustard flavour was overpowering and I immediately spit it out.

We have a local place that makes an awesome bacon cheeseburger pizza. They use some kind of mustard glaze for the sauce.

yeah honey mustard makes it tolerable

I put a light amount of tomato sauce and a whole bag of cheese because he loves cheese

We both don't like pickles so that pizza is already a nope lol

Dominoes in New Mexico used to make one years back that was pretty awesome. Didn't have mustard or shitty ass pickles either. It was a Green Chile Cheeseburger Pizza.

Pretty much the same as burger sauce

Might try that for the next one. Mayo, ketchup, horseradish, cayenne pepper

I'd either do a standard pizza with ground beef, cheese, and sensible matching toppings (though at that point you can probably just do better with nacho pizza)

OR

No sauce, but mix some BBQ sauce or Worcestershire or something into the beef and be light on the other stuff like ketchup/mustard/mayo. Just a light drizzle to flavour it without making it gross.

You know, I think the key to making a cheeseburger pizza for your dad is probably figuring out what his favourite kind of burger is. See what the main flavours involved are.

Don't use a tomato based sauce for a cheeseburger pizza. Make it a mix of mostly mayo, some ketchup and mustard. I sometimes add a little bit of garlic powder or Sriracha.

Adequately dry off pickle chips and some onion strands, so you don't get a wet pizza. Pinchoff fingertip sized pieces so you guarantee they cook adequately. Use a low-fat beef if you want to avoid getting it really greasy or par-fry beforehand.

For a decent quality dough, they often have pre-made pizza dough in the deli section of a grocery store or purchase from a local pizza place.

Any part skim low moisture mozzarella will do.
Finish with a sesame seed crust.

At my old job they used to call this the Big Mac pizza, It was off menu and we really only made it for the employees every once in awhile.

Burger sauce / thousand island sauce seemed to work pretty good

Asked him if he wanted any changes and he shook his head and gave me a thumbs up
