Going into 2000s was something else. Some of it perhaps was forced in hopes or fears or radical change. I don't think we'll ever act like that again because we'd probably too numb or smart going into the year 3000.
As human civilization continues on, people in then 2900's are gonna be like "damn then 1980s - 2000s were the peak of humanity ". We were getting into a technological era with most barely understanding it.
