Because a lot of them concerned topics that were current during the shows airing.

The race-swapped Law & Order sketch is the highlight of the show imo and hasn't aged at all (for better or worse)

My favorite sketch is still him impersonating Bush. It might be difficult for people to understand unless they lived during that time.

Another one of my favorites is when they voted in a law that gave black people reparations and what they spent it on lol.

Another skit that kids won't know about would be the Real World reality t.v. show. I don't think that's a thing anymore and people might not understand it.

The Wayne Brady one aged pretty well.

I think the funniest thing about the Wayne Brady one is that I had no idea it was a spoof of Training Day because i didn't know what that movie was at the time then one day I watched it and a certain scene looked eerie familiar but way way more serious.

Variety shows tend to create sketches on present. So a lot of political stuff is probably out of pop culture after 20 years. Like there was a sketch based on that Democrat that screamed Howard Dean. That isn't really brought up much these days. But the stuff based on celebs like R Kelly, Prince, and Rick James have all aged well imo and still make me laugh.

Maybe it is because I'm so much older but I think most of his sketches aged just fine. But I was in my late 20's to 30 years old when the show was on and I completely understood all the pop culture references.

I actually read about this one. Apparently Wayne Brady was a bit upset about Dave Chappelle teasing him about a joke or something about him being safe and 'white friendly' so Dave brought him on to do that skit.

I saw one of his friends on a morning show recently. it was one of the dice players. Ashy Larry. He was so happy to talk about his spot on the show and how much baby powder he used to make such a scene. Apparently Chapelle and his crew were surprised how in he went on the character.

You know that it was scripted though right? I mean...its Dave's show so even if Paul Mooney said it, Dave could have written it and even 'oked' it.

The fact the pilot of the show was the black white supremacist is absolutely mind blowing. Even back then it's a miracle that was allowed to air.

My favorite was definitely the Wayne Brady sketch. I loved Wayne Brady in the early 2000's, so seeing him act like that was weirdly hilarious. Charlie Murphy's true hollywood stories were also amazing. It was what introduced a lot of people to him and he was hilarious. It's a shame he lost his battle with leukemia...

It was a Diddy skit, but overall an MTB skit, so it's even funnier if you were actually watching MTB. That seemed like a miserable season and I wondered how the hell that investment was going to make its worthwhile lol.
