UBI would be easy since the government already gives out tons of free money.

It gets paid directly from the fed rather than the government. It doesnt come out of the existing pots of money. That way the fed can increase and decrease how much UBI is paid and it becomes another lever they can use to control inflation like interest rates.

Government gives money to be put into the economy. The market uses that money being infused into the economy to invest into technologies, resources, improvements and pays money back into the government.

Also UBI wouldn't preclude people working. It is just there to help bolster their pay or if they lose their job they're not just straight up fuck fucked.

How much would universal healthcare cost per person per month? Like how much do the countries with it spend? Just curious I think UBI would be around 4.1 trillion a year at just $1,000 a month.

and that money would be spent, generating taxes. Then the people who they gave the money to will spend the money, generating more taxes, etc. It eventually all is given back to the government, which then reinvests the money in the people. it's basically just circulating the supply of money around and making sure everyone get a piece (which would be a slice designed so poor people who don't/can't find other options other than full-time+ employment can survive, rather than be unhoused, die, or resort to crime to surive), as opposed to lowering taxes for the rich so they can keep and hold their piece of the pie while the rest starve or fight for scraps.

It's funny when conservatives make pronouncements like this. It's a good thing your leaders are generally smart enough to understand the research and development benefits of NASA for things like military weapon development...but they know such nuance is lost on their base, they just need you to be screaming at fake nonsense like making science and scientists a hated foe to distrust.

Ahh... well the thing about science is that it's not singularly focused, especially for an organization so broad as NASA. They provide valuable research into a lot of technology that benefits life here on earth as well as adding to the body of human knowledge.

I'd say NASA, along with the Post Office are examples of our government doing things that benefit society and are well worth the taxpayer investment.

The government will only receive a small % of that money back after taxs, no where near enough for the UBI to essentially pay for itself as youre implying, let alone the debt were in for all the other programs and things were funding.

That and frankly Im curious why many seem to think this just wont increase demand and cause even more inflation.

If you liquidated musk you'd have enough money to give everyone in America like $500/month ubi for half a year. Musk's a target because he's so rich but in the grand scheme of things he's just one small chunk of a larger billionaire problem. Instead of taking all his money, we need to take part of the money from all people like him.

I know lowering taxes sounds great but that just means the government has less money to do the things it should be doing. That's why when democrats take over the need to raise taxes again because our country is collapsing from the inside and it's because Republicans keep taking away the money that repairs things.

I wouldnt mind raising taxes if the government handles it properly and puts it toward the common American people but our tax money is used to fund wars and used to give the rich and wealthy more tax breaks

I think a problem that wed have to find a way to address first would be people raising the prices of stuff. Like rent or whatever It would suck if after UBI, some places started resisting the rent since they know the people around them would have extra money That would suck

Regulations are all good. The problem is people working around those regulations. For example, people can already charge whatever they want for renting a house to live in. So, its hard to tell someone they cant change how much to charge someone for rent. Or how to prove a house on the market. Or how much things should cost at the store. Regulations can only do so much. But cant stop people just pricing stuff at the price they want Well, cant stop most stuff. Some stuff, they can probably stop I think thats my main worry

So lets check that. 192,6 billion usd is his net worth. most of that is in stock, and you can't just """liquididate""" (good word tho!) without the assets taking a massive nosedive in valuation. That's....literally how stocks work.

Anyways, assuming you can, 192.6 Bill over 350 mil = $550. Total. Not per month.
